Ok... Got the TV... ROCK ASS!!! It's a 27" JVC. Composite, S-video, and Component inputs. I'm pretty sure it's an enhanced def TV, so I'm pretty stoked about it. It was $120.00 at the pawn shop, but for the quality of the set, I think it was worth it. After setting up the computer and hooking in the s-video, I got pretty excited. Worked great. However, I don’t think the computer itself is gonna be enough. As I said before, because of the video card and speed of the machine, I had to run Windows 98. Unfortunately, the video card will not be set any higher than 800X600 res. That just won't do. Plus, with Windows XP, I can remote in from another system and make changes, and also set up all the network stuff a lot easier. I'm gonna have to build a new system, but that's ok... won't be too bad. This was one of the biggest obstacles, and now it's done and done. Awesome. Another step to completion.

My other acquisition was an official Namco Guncon Light Gun. After looking around for any info on this, I found a couple sites for using this Playstation2 Gun for the PC. Sweet! Shooting games are great and would be awesome for the cabinet. So, after trying for what seemed like forever to get this thing working, I contacted Acorn, who runs the Wingun web site. He said that it was a pretty good chance that it was the TV that was causing the problem. Sigh... and Damn too. The set has quite a few more lines of pixels than a regular set so this could be the problem. I may have to look for a better quality gun (this one is the lower end of the lightgun spectrum), but I have a few more tests to run on it before scraping it.

Anyway, I've almost got everything together to start building the cabinet. Just a few more things to get, but making progress. The next thing on the list is the marquee, control panel, and side art. Stay tuned!
